Robokind - Dallas, TX's Robokind is approaching robotics on multiple fronts. Robots for autism assistance, robotics integrated into computer science and programming instruction, and even social robots. This is definitely a startup to keep on your radar.
Naio Technologies - France's Naio Technologies is working on a robotic weeder to assist farmers.
Monsieur - Is it a smartphone enabled machine or is it a drink-serving digital dynamo? You tell me. Monsieur, the robotic bartender, can make you a drink, tell you which ingredients you need, and never needs to be offered a gratuity. The future of bartending has arrived, and its name is Monsieur. (But no soft shoulder to cry on; you'll still need a human bartender for that).
YDreams - Portugal's YDreams is working on numerous robotic inventions, including interactive concierge robots. This company is most definitely livin' in the future.
Unbounded Robotics - A spin-off from Willow Garage, Unbounded Robotics' UBR-1 could very well be the laborer of the future. Adaptable, customizable, and friendly too, UBR-1 could potentially complete a "Honey Do" list and never give you any backtalk. Spouse of the future, maybe? (And cheaper than most divorce settlements, too. #JustSayin)
EZ Robot - As spotlighted in this previous TechTidbits post, Alberta's EZ Robot is another hot startup in the robotics market.
These startups are just a tiny drop in the bucket in terms of what is happening with robotics. The future for this market is so bright, you just might wanna wear shades. Oh, maybe your robot can fetch them for you.
